Brad Hand traded to Cleveland Indians

San Diego Padres closer Brad Hand has been traded to the Cleveland Indians, reports MLB insider Jon Heyman on Twitter. (Jon Heyman on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Hand will likely join Andrew Miller in setup duty for the Indians, though Cleveland closer Cody Allen has struggled this season and could lose his hold on the position if those struggles continue and Hand and Miller outperform him. With Allen and Miller both free agents this offseason, this move is as much about the future of the Cleveland bullpen as it is the present, since Hand is under team control through the 2021 season. San Diego setup man Kirby Yates is the early candidate to take over closing duties for the Padres.
