Trevor Bauer returns in limited appearance Friday

by Carmen Maiorano | Sat, Sep 22nd 8:58am EDT

Trevor Bauer returned from his fibula injury on Friday against the Red Sox, pitching 1 1/3 innings. He wasn't particularly effective, allowing two hits and a walk, but he did not allow any runs to score. He struck out one in the appearance.

Fantasy Impact:

The Indians plan to have Bauer start in the playoffs, provided he has the health and endurance to do so. Per Zach Meisel of The Athletic, he will see at least one start early next week, which will be an extended appearance. If he feels good, he plans to make one more start next weekend, potentially lining up as a two-start pitcher. He is too risky to bank on that, however. Bauer has a 2.21 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, and 215 Ks in 167 1/3 innings.
