Jordan Lyles fails to get out of first inning Saturday

by Connor Rooney | Royals Correspondent | Sat, Jul 13th 8:09pm EDT

Jordan Lyles (5-6) took the ugly loss Saturday against the Cubs, allowing seven runs on four hits and four walks in 0.2 innings. He struck out two.

Fantasy Impact:

Lyles simply didn't have it Saturday, and he couldn't find the zone, firing 22 of 43 pitches for strikes. When he did find the zone, the Cubs hammered him. After a decent April and May, Lyles's ERA has jumped to 5.16, and his WHIP to 1.40. He'll look to get back on track in his next start, scheduled to come next Friday against the Phillies.
