Yadier Molina willing to test free agency in 2020

by Brendan Tuma | Wed, Apr 29th 1:51pm EDT

Yadier Molina told ESPN's Marly Rivera that he would be willing to test the free agent market this off-season if an extension with the Cardinals doesn't work out. (ESPN)

Fantasy Impact:

"Obviously, St. Louis is my first option," said Molina. "But if they don't sign me, then I'm willing to go into free agency. This situation has changed my mentality and all I want to do is play ... right now, I'm thinking of playing two more years." Molina added that before the coronavirus pandemic interfered there was a 50/50 chance 2020 would be his final season. However, this situation has changed his mind. We would still bet on St. Louis bringing him back but Molina is giving himself some other options as a backup plan. It would certainly be strange to see the 37-year-old ever wear a different uniform.
