Sean Newcomb was optioned to the Atlanta Braves' alternate site on Monday following a disastrous outing against the Phillies. (Mark Bowman on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Newcomb gave up eight earned runs on six hits with two walks and one strikeout across 1.1 innings on Monday against the Phillies; the lefty was promptly optioned following the conclusion of the game. For the season, Newcomb registered an ugly 11.20 ERA and a 1.90 WHIP with an 0-2 record across 13.2 innings (four starts). The Braves rotation is severely shorthanded as it is so the 27-year old is likely to rejoin the big league club later on this season.
