Brandon Woodruff strikes out nine in Monday's loss

Brandon Woodruff (2-5) allowed two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out nine across five 2/3 innings in Monday's 6-3 loss to the Reds. He picked up his fifth loss of the season.

Woodruff has now been saddled with the loss in back-to-back outings. He yielded a two-run shot to Eugenio Suarez before exiting. The right-hander has allowed just five runs in his last 19 2/3 innings. Woodruff owns a 3.43 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 81 strikeouts over 65 2/3 innings in 2020. His next scheduled start is Saturday against the Cardinals.
