Blake Snell strikes out nine in Game 1

by Brendan Tuma | Giants Correspondent | Tue, Sep 29th 8:46pm EDT

Blake Snell was dominant in the Rays' playoff opener against the Blue Jays, throwing 5 2/3 scoreless frames while striking out nine en route to a 3-1 Tampa Bay victory.

Fantasy Impact:

Snell's nine strikeouts tie a Rays postseason record. The 27-year-old was the best version of himself tonight, allowing just one hit and two walks in the outing. Incredibly, he still didn't complete six innings, just as he didn't in all 11 of his regular season starts. Ultimately, things couldn't have gone better today for Snell and the Rays. This team has legitimate World Series aspirations.
