Matt Strahm (knee) to undergo surgery next week

Matt Strahm will have surgery next week to repair the patellar tendon in his right knee. He is expected to be ready for spring training in 2021. (Kevin Acee on Twitter)

Strahm dealt with knee inflammation most of the season; it landed him on the IL for a few weeks in September. He had patellar tendon surgery on his other knee back in 2017, per beat writer Kevin Acee. He should be ready to go for 2021 and will likely remain in his long relief role for the Padres.
