A.J. Burnett made his final Spring Training appearance on Thursday. Burnett threw 4 scoreless while striking out two and walking one. Burnett is going to be the third man in the Pirates rotation heading into the season.
Fantasy Impact:
A.J. Burnett is entering the final season or two of his career, but he is still of some fantasy value. Anytime Burnett is on the mound he will get batters out, but he is not as flashy as he once was. Burnett cannot simply blow a fastball by a hitter because he has aged. Burnett will be a good fantasy option in a deeper league, but you should be able to find better talent on the waiver wire.
