Sonny Gray continues to be center of trade talks in Cincinnati

by Jon Mathisen | Cardinals Correspondent | Fri, Dec 18th 8:35pm EST

Sonny Gray has been at the center of most of Cincinnati's trade talks this offseason, per Jon Heyman of MLB Network. (Jon Heyman on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Heyman notes that other teams have kicked the tires on players such as Eugenio Suarez but Sonny Gray has been drawing the most interest, and rightfully so. Gray is still relatively young at 31-years old and is under contract for the next two seasons at an affordable price, a little over $10 million per year. He also has a $12 million club option for 2023. He's coming off a solid 2020 in which he registered a 3.70 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, and 72:26 K/BB ratio over 56 innings. He would make for a welcome addition to any team looking to beef up their starting rotation.
