Edwin Encarnacion

Edwin Encarnacion hitless with an RBI Friday

by Marc Walton | Fri, Apr 10th 7:09pm EDT

Edwin Encarnacion was the only Blue Jays starter not to register a hit during their 12-5 offensive onslaught of the Baltimore Orioles Friday afternoon. Despite the 0-for-4 day with two strikeouts, Encarnacion did drive in a run on a sacrifice fly in the first inning.

Fantasy Impact:

After going 5-for-12 in their series against the Yankees, Encarnacion had an excellent opportunity to add to his RBI total with the top three hitters in the Jays lineup reaching base a combined nine times. He was able to drive in a run in the first inning on a sacrifice fly, however he was unable to capitalize on opportunities later in the game leaving four men on base. Edwin drove in 98 runs in just 128 games played last year, so expect him to plate 100+ in 2015.
