The Brewers have released right-handed reliever Brad Boxberger. He was in camp as a non-roster invite. (Adam McCalvy on Twitter)

This means that Boxberger didn't make the Opening Day roster. He allowed eight earned runs over eight innings this spring, walking one and striking out 11. Despite a shaky spring, he posted a 3.00 ERA over 23 games with the Marlins last year. Additionally, he owns a 3.56 career ERA. His solid history in the majors could make him an intriguing candidate on the open market, though McCalvy suggests the Brewers are already looking into re-signing him.
