Minnesota Twins right-hander Kenta Maeda threw six innings of two-run ball in a 3-2 win over the Tigers on Wednesday. Maeda struck out six and walked one in the win.
Maeda gave up a solo homer to Wilson Ramos in the fifth inning but mostly cruised besides that. The veteran now has a 1-0 record, 2.61 ERA, and 11 strikeouts in 10 1/3 innings of work. He will take on the Red Sox in his next start.
