Michael Kopech records three-inning hold in Saturday’s win over Cleveland

by Brad Camara | White Sox Correspondent | Sun, May 2nd 7:32am EDT

Michael Kopech allowed one hit and struck out three batters across three scoreless innings during Saturday’s 7-3 win over Cleveland. He recorded his first hold of the season.

Fantasy Impact:

Kopech entered Saturday’s game for the first time since his five-inning start last Sunday. He was dominant again, limiting Cleveland to one hit while striking out three over three scoreless innings to earn his first hold of year. The 25-year-old threw 44 pitches, landing 31 for strikes. He continues to be used in a multi-inning relief role and for an occasional spot start. Kopech has a tremendous amount of upside and should be rostered in all league formats. The 26-year-old owns a 1.45 ERA, 0.64 WHIP, and a 30:4 K: BB across 18 2/3 innings in 2021.
