Stefan Crichton takes the loss on Friday

by Jon Mathisen | Sat, May 8th 12:07am EDT

RHP Stefan Crichton took the loss on Friday when he surrendered one unearned run with two walks over 1/3 of an inning in the D-Backs 5-4 loss to the Mets in extra-innings.

Fantasy Impact:

Crichton entered in the bottom of the 10th inning with Pete Alonso on second base. He intentionally walked Dominic Smith to set up a potential double play. He then got Kevin Pillar to fly out, which allowed Alonso to tag up to third base. That forced Crichton to then intentionally walk Jonathan Villar to load the bases with one out. Alonso would then come around to score on a fielder’s choice, handing Crichton his first loss of the season. This one wasn’t really his fault and shouldn’t be held against him as many relievers have suffered the same sort of tough luck losses due to the new extra innings rule.
