Luke Weaver dominates the Padres in return to rotation

by Jon Mathisen | Yankees Correspondent | Wed, Sep 1st 8:57pm EDT

RHP Luke Weaver earned the win on Wednesday when he allowed one run on four hits with three strikeouts across six innings as the Diamondbacks took down the Padres 8-3.

Fantasy Impact:

Weaver missed over three and a half months with a shoulder issue and was making his first start since May 16. He showed no signs of rust on Wednesday, limiting the Padres to just one run scored. Trent Grisham finally put the Pads on the board in the sixth inning but the Arizona offense spotted Weaver plenty of runs so he walked away with a quality start and a win. The 28-year-old right-hander now owns a 4.11 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 41:13 K/BB ratio over 46 innings (nine starts). He'll get the Rangers at home in his next turn, which makes him a worthwhile streaming option.
