Jose Berrios solid in no-decision on Tuesday

by Devon Bruce | Blue Jays Correspondent | Wed, Jul 27th 7:48am EDT

Jose Berrios pitched 5 2/3 innings, allowing three earned runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out seven during Toronto's win over St. Louis on Tuesday.

Fantasy Impact:

Berrios was mainly solid on Tuesday, allowing a home run in the first inning to Dylan Carlson and then struggling slightly in the third inning, allowing two RBI singles. He seems to have really turned a corner recently, allowing three or fewer earned runs in his last five starts, producing an excellent 36:6 strikeout-to-walk ratio over that span. On the season he is 7-4 with an improving 5.20 ERA and 1.37 WHIP with 100 strikeouts over 107 1/3 innings pitched. He'll next toe the rubber in a matchup against the Tigers on Sunday.
