Despite a stellar performance that fantasy managers dream of, Nick Pivetta was handed a tough-luck loss in a narrow 1-0 defeat against the Mariners.
Fantasy Impact:
Delivering a masterclass over six innings, Pivetta limited Seattle to just three hits and a single earned run while not walking any batters and racking up an impressive 10 strikeouts. Unfortunately, the Red Sox offense couldn't muster any support, leaving Pivetta with an undeserved 0-1 record. Fantasy managers should take solace in the high strikeout totals and excellent control Pivetta has shown, making him a potentially undervalued asset in all formats. The right-hander will be one to watch over his next several starts to see if Friday night's outing was a fluke or a look at a promising starting option over the course of the season for fantasy managers.
