Francisco Alvarez is undergoing additional testing today to check his ligament and "everything" in his left thumb, per Carlos Mendoza. So there's still concern this could be more than a sprain.

No matter what, Mendoza said, "we know for sure it's going to be more than 10 days."

Fantasy Impact:

Alvarez was placed on the IL with a left thumb sprain Saturday. Mets manager Carlos Mendoza stated that Alvarez is expected to miss more than 10 days with the injury.
