Carlos Ruiz goes without a hit in win over Marlins

by Kerry Kauffman | Sat, May 7th 11:34pm EDT

The Phillies evened their weekend series against the Marlins with a 4-3 win on Friday, despite getting just five hits. Carlos Ruiz was one of several who struggled at the plate, going 0-for-4. Ruiz is now 0-for-8 in his last two starts and is batting .286 for the season.

Fantasy Impact:

Ruiz has played in 13 games this season, getting about 40 percent of the starts behind Cameron Rupp. He's been more productive than Rupp, but it's possible that Ruiz, at age 37 would see his production decline if he played every day. He's likely going to sit this weekend, but should be back in the starting lineup early next week.
