Justin Verlander allowed two runs on four hits in 7 2/3 innings against Los Angeles on Friday, striking out eight batters and walking one. Verlander is 3-1 with a 2.41 ERA, 0.83 WHIP, and 34 strikeouts in 33 2/3 innings. He is 14-7 with a 3.33 ERA and 1.02 WHIP this season leading into his start on August 31 against the White Sox in Detroit.
