Elliot Berkovits
Pack to the Future
Everyone's favorite 2019 breakout, Chris Godwin is now a consensus top-10 WR and for good reason. He showed last year that he is supremely talented and that was with Jameis Winston at QB. Now that he has Tom Brady throwing him the ball the sky's the limit for Godwin in 2020. His only concern will be building a connection with Brady without any preseason snaps.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
We saw Godwin ascend into superstardom last year, compiling over 1,300 yards and nine touchdowns in just 14 games, finishing as the WR2. Insert Tom Brady into the offense, and you suddenly have room for optimism that it continues. The arrival of Rob Gronkowski hurts a bit, but knowing Bruce Arians has used Godwin the way he used Larry Fitzgerald, the numbers should continue to grow. Godwin is a legitimate WR1 in fantasy once again in 2020.It's now been four straight seasons where Kelce has finished with 1,000-plus yards. He's as safe as they come and should still be in the prime of his career at 30 years old. Patrick Mahomes took a step back in terms of touchdown percentage in 2019, but could very well bounce back to elite levels in 2020, giving Kelce consideration as a second-round pick in fantasy drafts. If you have "your guys" in the middle rounds, Kelce makes sense as an early-round pick. He's now posted TE1-type numbers in 28-of-32 games over the last two years. It also helps when you see 41.4 percent of your team's targets inside the 10-yard line, like Kelce did in 2019.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
What can you say about Kelce? He became the first tight end ever to put up four consecutive 1,000-yard seasons last year. He's finished as the top tight end in fantasy in three of the last four years (and fell half a point shy of Rob Gronkowski in the other), and is always among the leaders in targets, receptions, and yards at the position. An elite player in an elite offense with an elite quarterback. Don't overthink it.
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
PFF's 2nd-highest graded WR in 2019, but the Winston circus sideshow has left town - Brady, Gronk and winning could be elements that lead to more conservative playHas finished as No. 1 TE in FAN PTS 4 straight seasons, is tied to perhaps the NFL's top offense and has shown no signs of slowing down
Kevin Wheeler
Draftwize
Last season Chris Godwin finished as the WR2 in PPR leagues. He did that while being 17th amongst WRs with 121 targets. @DaltonGuruFFTravis Kelce converted just 2 of 12 targets inside the 10-yard line into TDs last year -- 17%. From 2016-2018, he converted 9 of 22 targets inside the 10 into scores -- 41%. @SmolaDS
Michael Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
If Julian Edelman can average over 150 targets and be a WR1 with Tom Brady, imagine what Chris Godwin, the taller, faster, more athletic, younger WR can do. Do not overthink it.
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
Godwin had a breakout season with 1,333 yards and 9 touchdowns in 2019. If he stays healthy, the sky is the limit for the 24-year old wide receiver, although QB Tom Brady does provide some question marks given his age and lack of arm strength in New England at the end of last season.Kelce is still the best fantasy tight end in the league playing on an explosive Chiefs offense. He finished the 2019 season with 1,233 yards from scrimmage and 6 touchdowns.
Kyle Yates
FantasyPros
Godwin was the steal of the draft last season and was one of the key components to many people winning fantasy championships. With Tom Brady behind center now, Godwin shouldn't see any drop-off in targets at all and should become Brady's favorite target very quickly. Godwin has top-5 potential again this season and is one of the safer picks in the entire draft this year.Kelce has finished as the TE2 or better the last four seasons. Yes, you read that correctly. Even without Patrick Mahomes at QB, Kelce's been getting the job done for fantasy football and there's very little reason to doubt that he's going to finish as a top-2 option again this season. If you don't want to play the late-round TE guessing game, Kelce's an extremely smart selection at his current ADP.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
After an incredible start to the 2019 season, Chris Godwin had only two 100 yard games and three TDs from Week 7 onwards. That's not ideal for an elite fantasy receiver but he remained a solid weekly fantasy option. Despite his WR2 finish last year, the hype surrounding Godwin has little to do with last season and everything to do with the arrival of TB12. Brady could very well be a massive boost for Godwin as he loves those safe mid-range targets but the addition of Rob Gronkowski will have an effect on that too and is reason for caution. Ultimately, Godwin is a solid second round pickup who lacks true league-winning upside without an Evans injury.Travis Kelce remains the pinnacle for tight ends in fantasy football. With four consecutive 1000+ yard seasons under his belt and as a key cog in the league's best offence, he's as safe as they come. His floor is WR1-quality, he's missed one game in the last six seasons and he gets an extraordinary amount of red zone targets. As an added bonus, last season's TE1 is due some TD regression and did much of his work last year without Patrick Mahomes. Every player comes with some risk but Kelce is as safe as they come and should be locked in as the TE1. The real question is where you take him. He's usually going in the middle of the second round and while that's a touch too early for me, I couldn't blame you for wanting to lock up one of the shallowest positions with a total stud.
Seth Miller
Crossroads Fantasy Football
I don't really know what to do with this but Godwin only had 1 less catchable deep ball than Evans last year with 300/2 coming off the deep ball vs Mike Evans 407/3. I think this might show the reliance on the deep ball for Evan's is overblown, while being just as big of a hit for Godwin.
