Draft Engine
Draft Engine
A polished route runner who understands the nuances of how to leverage defensive backs, Jeudy is at his best on slants and in-breaking routes that allow him to get the ball in his hands before taking off. Because he's relatively slight at 190 pounds, he'll likely need a season with an NFL strength coach before he becomes productive enough to be an every-week fantasy starter.Tate entered 2018 coming off four straight seasons with 90 or more catches despite having scored only 19 TDs during that span. He has reached the end zone 10 times for three NFC teams over 26 games the past couple of seasons, but it's hard to envision him carving out significant fantasy value in 2020 with Saquon Barkley, Evan Engram, Darius Slayton and Sterling Shepard in the mix.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
Jerry Jeudy was my favorite prospect entering the draft and he enters a backfield with a slot-shaped hole ready for him to fill it. The problem is the overall power of this offense, I just don't expect them to be very good. Even if things go well, the running backs will get a heap of touches, as will Courtland Sutton and Noah Fant, making it hard for Jeudy and his fellow rookies KJ Hamler and Albert O to make a big impact. I like Jeudy in PPR but he's unlikely to be much more than a flex option in his rookie season.Golden Tate had his season majorly affected by injury since 2010 but still proved very effective while on the gridiron. He regularly managed double-digit half-PPR points and when you're drafting a guy in the 12th round, that's outstanding output. He's a real sleeper going into this season and could prove very valuable if the Giants offense has enough passing volume.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
Over the last five years, I haven't scouted a wide receiver who was more pro-ready and well-rounded than Jeudy. With essentially no offseason, it's going to be difficult for him to walk in and develop instant chemistry with Drew Lock. At the same time, everyone on the team is learning a new offense, as Pat Shurmur has walked in as the offensive coordinator. Still, it'll be hard for him to overtake Courtland Sutton as the team's leader in targets. Jeudy can play many roles, including being the deep threat down the field, playing the possession-style role, or moving into the slot, which he did regularly at Alabama. Sutton isn't someone who'll move into the slot very often, which is a good thing for Jeudy, as Shurmur's slot receivers have done damage in the past. Again, the negative is that fellow rookie KJ Hamler is also a slot presence who's going to get some playing time. There's a path to Jeudy being a Terry McLaurin-like fantasy option this year, but his path to targets is not as easy. If Sutton stays on the field, Jeudy will be too inconsistent to trust on a weekly basis. He's still not a bad on to have on your bench as a WR4/5, because the talent is there.I remember when Tate was just a young guy in the league trying to find a role in the Seahawks offense. Here we are, now entering his 11th season at 32 years old. As you can see from the Shepard paragraph, Tate was semi-consistent with his targets, but you also have to factor in where he played on the field. Both Saquon Barkley and Evan Engram missed time throughout the year, which should've led to more targets for Tate. He had them most of the time, but even more importantly, he produced when he played. He produced WR3 or better numbers in 81.8 percent of his games last year. You know who did that more often than him? Michael Thomas. That's it. It is a new offense and Barkley/Engram are healthy, so don't expect that anymore, but understand that there's likely a place for him in fantasy football, especially when you consider the state of the Giants defense that'll be among the league's worst. He's not sexy and won't finish as a top-24 receiver, but he can be a WR4 type that you plug in when you know the Giants will be throwing a ton.
Elliot Berkovits
Packer Report
Jeidy finds himself in a nice spot in Denver where he won't be forced into a WR1 role from day one. With Courtland Sutton demanding most of the attention, Jeudy should be able to work underneath well and he's dangerous with the ball in his hands making him a threat to score on any given play. My only concern is due to COVID and the cancellation of the preseason which may cause Jeudy to start slow but don't expect that to last for too long, this guy's the real deal.Drafting Golden Tate is never very exciting or sexy but when you're in a pinch over your flex spot, he's one of the better options you can have. He should be 2nd-year QB, Daniel Jones' safety blanket which is why he is, as usual, considerably more valuable in PPR formats over standard.
Kyle Yates
FantasyPros
Jeudy is a phenomenal WR prospect, but he didn't exactly land in the best offense for immediate fantasy football production. Jeudy should be a fringe WR4/WR5 this upcoming season, but could see increased work if Courtland Sutton were to miss time for some reason.Tate still has plenty left in the tank, but this offense may be too crowded for him to be a consistently weekly fantasy option. With Sterling Shepard, Tate, Darius Slayton, Evan Engram, and Saquon Barkley all vying for targets, it's unlikely that one player significantly outproduces the rest. This season, Tate's nothing more than a WR4 unless things open up in this passing game.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Tate missed four games last year after his suspension but he had a very solid year when he was on the field. He finished the season ranked 31st among wide receiver in fantasy points per game (half-PPR formats) and continued to excel in producing yards after the catch. Tate will be 32 years old when the season starts and will continue to compete for targets with Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton, Evan Engram, and Saquon Barkley. But in full PPR formats at least, he should be a viable flex option most weeks. In standard or half-PPR leagues, however, draft him only as a bench player.
Seth Miller
Crossroads Fantasy Football
The offense can grow with Lock at the helm but none of the QBs paced above the bottom third in the league for ATT. Hard to project a huge step for Lock, while also expecting Jeudy to immediately come in and be productive in a low volume passing game. Sanders barely paced as a flex option while he was around last year. If they show they'd like to pass more in 2020 I'll come back to it. Bringing in Gordon doesn't scream that to me though. Was heavily targeted with Jones under center. Will be a boring flex if no one is brought in.
