Bell was given the franchise tag and he averaged 17.4 fantasy points per game last year playing under the tag. He is a duel-threat runner and receiver that can dominate fantasy games. He is a bit of a risk with the holdout, but he still needs to be taken in the 1st round and handcuffed with RB James Conner.Hunt had 1,782 yards from scrimmage and 11 touchdowns last year. He looked like he hit a wall midseason, but he finished strong and he should be a great fantasy option in 2018.
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
Time keeps on slipping, slipping into the future, and still we wait for Bell to report to the Steelers. His O-line has started speaking out against him, rumors of a holdout until Week 10 are gaining steam ... lots of question marks, the kind that you don't want hanging over your Rd. 1 pickDespite inexplicable mid-season workload dip (13.7 carries per game from Week 6-13), still led NFL in rushing yards and missed tackles (70 combined rush/rec. tackles avoided was tied with D. Johnson for most in a season over past three years)
Andrew Gould
FantasyPros
The league's truest featured back, Bell played a whopping 945 snaps last season. No other rusher recorded 800. He parlayed a gargantuan 406 touches into 1,946 yards and 11 TDs in 15 games. That weighty workload put him firmly in the No. 1-pick conversation, but he should drop in last-minute drafts because of an ongoing holdout that could reportedly span well into the season.Hunt was so brilliant to start and conclude his rookie campaign that he solidified a RB3 finish (4 in PPR) despite a nine-game TD drought. He registered 297 combined yards in five games after clearing 100 in each of his first seven (and last three) career contests. Such inconsistency is troubling given his first-round price, especially since a returning Spencer Ware could jeopardize his steadily high volume. Yet Hunt was too awesome to pass up if he falls near the turn of a 12-team snake.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
Despite having a less-successful year than his 2016 campaign, Bell still finished No. 2 among fantasy running backs. His contract dispute is not going away any time soon, which moves him down under Todd Gurley due to safety. We fully expect Bell to suit-up when the lights come on in Week 1, but there's always a chance he doesn't. Another added risk is that he'll have a new offensive coordinator in 2018, though Randy Fichtner doesn't appear to be shy running a fast-paced offense. Update: It appears that Bell may not report to the team like he initially said, as his agent was interviewed on Sirius XM radio and said it's possible that Bell holds out until Week 10 to take less of a toll on his body before free agency. If you draft him, you absolutely need to reach for James Connor in the top eight rounds. Last offseason, I was telling fantasy players to draft both Spencer Ware and Kareem Hunt (when they were both going outside the top seven rounds) because you were guaranteed RB1 production out of one of them. When Ware went down, I pounded the table for Hunt as a late second-round pick under Andy Reid. He ran with the job, so he's the clear-cut starter for them in 2018, and it's a team who packs some serious offensive firepower, provided Pat Mahomes is the real deal. There's tons of mouths to feed between Hunt, Sammy Watkins, Tyreek Hill, and Travis Kelce, but I'll remind you that you want Reid's starting running back no matter who it is. Hunt just happened to show you that he's an above average running back last year, breaking an NFL-high 19 runs of more than 15 yards. They accounted for 521 yards, or 39.3 percent of his season total. With the defense crumbling in Kansas City, the pass attempts are likely to rise, which means the rush attempts could fall. Hunt is still likely to finish as an RB1, but don't expect him to finish top-five.
Kevin Wheeler
NFL Mock
"To all my Steeler fans, my desire always has been to retire a Steeler...both sides worked extremely hard today to make that happen, but the NFL is a hard business at times...to the fans that had hope, I'm sorry we let youu down but trust me, 2018 will be my best season to date..." @LeVeonBell 400+ touches last year, regression in production is most likely scenario. Despite leading the #NFL in rushing in 2017, 18.38% of Kareem Hunt's rushing attempts went for 0 or less total yards. @SuperFlexerFF Spencer Ware coming back has to cap his upside some... some.

Win My Fantasy League
Holdout threat looms but remains a top three pickSparse competiton should lead to another RB1 season
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
The sentiment for drafting Bell first overall is fair and understandable, but he is substantially more injury prone than Gurley, dealing with a potential holdout and finished more than 60 points behind him last fantasy season too. He comes with more risk than I'd recommend with a top two pick in fantasy drafts.Hunt was spectacular in the first three weeks then to close the season for Kansas City, but the in between stretch left owners benching him before long. More than likely, we will see something in the middle, and with Spencer Ware now in the fold, his ceiling is capped. Don't forget that Ware was every bit as good as Hunt while he was the head-dog.
Staff Rankings
QB List
I know a lot of people would put Todd Gurley here and I wouldn't blame them at all. But I tend to be risk-averse in fantasy, and I think some regression is coming for Gurley, which is why I'm more inclined to roll with a high-floor guy like Bell. I'm not worried about Bell sitting out training camp, he did the same thing last year and he was amazing, posting 1,315 yards and a solid 7.9% DVOA along with that. Not only that, but Bell is on the last year of his contract, and I'm betting he doesn't negotiate an extension. As a result, I bet the Steelers run him as hard as they can, and the more times Bell has the ball in his hands, the better for fantasy players.Hunt was the big story at the beginning of the year last year, putting up top-five performances in the first three weeks of the season, but he slowed down in a big way, finishing 15th or worst in five out of the next six weeks. But those who were patient with Hunt were rewarded, as he finished inside the top-10 in Weeks 15 and 16. So what can we expect from Hunt this year? He should be a top-10 back without a doubt in my mind-he's got the talent, as evidenced by his 11.9% DVOA (good for sixth in the league) and he'll be running behind an offensive line that finished top-10 in short-yardage runs, second-level yards, open field yards, and preventing the running back from getting stuffed.
Jody Smith
FantasyPros
This is likely to be Bell's last season in Pittsburgh, so expect the Steelers to give him all the touches he can handle, making Bell a candidate for the No. 1 PPR scorer of 2018. Hunt should pick up right where he left off, save for the mid-season swoon. The question remains is what kind of role, if any, that Spencer Ware will have.
Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
Contract talks are annoying, so I'm dropping Bell slightly, but he's still a top 5 lock as long as he doesn't sit games outHunt was quite the force as a rookie and Andry Reid RBs tend to wreck. He'll have a bad stretch at some point but overall he's destined to be a stud.
Andrew Erickson
Gridiron Experts
Sitting out OTAs gonna be fresh for the season. The Steelers probably won't re-sign him so I think that they are gonna drive him into the ground. 61 red zone rushinhg attempts in 2017 2nd most in the league. 107 passing targets 2nd most of any RB, 2nd most on team. Tied for most in red-zone passing targets at the RB spot with Kamara. Led the league in rushing with the least amount of rushing yards since 1990. Inconsistent last year, Spencer Ware sort of in the picture? Damien Williams and Kerwynn Williams have been added. New QB and changes in the offense that do not necesssarily benefit Hunt.
