| Derek Brown FantasyPros | The Commanders will learn the same thing that the Colts did last year. Carson Wentz can manage a game, but don't ask him to lift up your passing attack. Wentz was 20th in clean pocket completion and 32nd in catchable pass rates. Washington was 11th in neutral rushing rate last year, which could creep even higher in 2022. With their selection of Brian Robinson, this offense could be built around the run, which leaves Wentz as nothing more than a QB3 in Superflex or a waiver wire matchup target. | |

Still, those numbers were equally impressive for Jones, who posted the sixth-highest passer rating (92.5) and second-highest completion percentage (67.6%) for a rookie quarterback with at least 300 attempts in NFL history. | |

On the other hand, Jones was much more of a game manager than a playmaker as a rookie, and he offers little rushing value. There's certainly room for growth, but he needs more pass-catching weaponry, and he needs Bill Belichick to loosen the reins. | Wentz stayed healthy in 2021 and finished QB15 for the Colts. He's since been traded to Washington in a deal that probably doesn't move the needle much on his fantasy value. Wentz has never fulfilled the promise of his (injury-shortened) near-MVP season in 2017 and now seems destined to dwell in the QB2 zone. |
