Lineups
The Lions were onto something special in the first eight games of 2019. Darrell Bevell's offense had Matthew Stafford putting up career-best numbers and Kenny Golladay was the primary beneficiary as he was on pace for 70 catches for 1,280 yards and 14 touchdowns through the first eight games of the season. After Stafford's injury, Golladay still maintained an elite pace after Stafford's injury as he still finished the season with 56% of his games as a WR1. Stafford should be able to play through the full season this year and Golladay will produce as his elite #1 option. Golladay has top-five upside and a top-15 baseline.Tampa Bay had an amazing fantasy football season as Jameis Winston helmed one of the highest-octane offenses despite his 30 interceptions. With Tom Brady under center, the offense will be much more conservative and less turnover-prone. That will mean they won't need to push the pace as much or throw as much as last year, hence the collective opinion on Evans being down. However, him slipping to the third round in some leagues is absurd. Evans has been one of the league's best receiver in the past six seasons - despite poor QB play, he's never had fewer than 1,000 yards in a season. The touchdowns have been a bit inconsistent, but Brady is a terrific red zone passer and the Tampa running backs may not be enough. Evans has had 12-touchdown seasons in the past and it wouldn't necessarily be a surprise to see him do it again. Don't overthink this - one of the best quarterbacks in the league is pairing up with one of the best receivers. Greatness should ensue.
Draft Engine
Draft Engine
With Darrell Bevell taking over as the Lions' offensive coordinator prior to last season, Detroit's passing attack became more diverse and creative than it had been in previous years under Jim Bob Cooter. Benefiting from a much higher rate of play-action calls, Golladay was on pace for 1,280 yards and 14 scores before Matthew Stafford suffered a season-ending back injury on November 3.Despite Bruce Arians replacing Dirk Koetter as Tampa's head coach in 2019, the Bucs' passing game looked similar to previous seasons. Arians hammers home the "no risk it, no biscuit" philosophy of attacking downfield, which plays to Evans' strengths. His numbers should benefit from the arrival of Tom Brady, who is a far more accurate passer than Jameis Winston.
Elisha Twerski
numberFire
In his last 16 games with Matthew Stafford at quarterback, Golladay has been targeted 137 times, catching 75 of them for 1,226 yards and 9 scores. He's a rock-solid WR1.In just 13 games in 2019, Evans had 6 games with fewer than double-digit fantasy points in half-PPR. His weekly upside is huge, but his floor is too low for an ADP this high. Addtionally, according to AirYards.com, Evans' average depth of target (aDOT) has been 14.0-plus in each of his six seasons in the league. Now he's playing with Brady, a passer whose aDOT is generally under 8.0 these days.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
Kenny Golladay proved he's an elite fantasy receiver, despite spending half of 2019 without Matthew Stafford. His 11 TDs and five 100-yard games were massive for non-PPR last season but he'll need to up his reception totals to make him a reliable fantasy option in reception leagues. It's very possible he takes another step up in 2020 but for me he's likely to remain in a tier below the elite possession receivers like Thomas, Adams, Jones, Hopkins and Godwin while he lacks the explosiveness of Hill. For me he's arguably the best in that next tier though and a viable second-round pick in non-PPR.Mike Evans turned in his sixth consecutive 1000 yard season despite playing just 13 games and passing 100 yards on only three occasions. He once again mastered the blow-up game with each of those big games topping 180 yards and 30 half-ppr fantasy points. In best ball that makes him a great option but in redraft it makes him a terrifying weekly play if you draft him too early. That aspect locks him into his third-round price tag... or does it? Tom Brady is now in town and Evans could well benefit more than most realize. Brady still has a good deep ball and likes to unleash it on rare occasions when the receiver is good enough. Evans is always good enough. I like his upside but be wary of his weekly variance.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
We've watched Golladay ascending into the clear-cut No. 1 role in the Lions offense, and even though he did finish as the No. 6 wide receiver in 2019, there's still some meat left on the bone. Matthew Stafford went down in Week 9 last year. Golladay had four games with 23-plus PPR points with Stafford in the lineup, and just one game with more than 18 PPR points without him. If Stafford can stay healthy, Golladay should return WR1 numbers. There are a lot of people who'll point out the fact that Evans finished as a WR1 in 2019 despite missing three games. Well, I hate to break it to you, but he was not a WR1 in terms that actually matter to you, the fantasy player. Despite averaging an elite 9.1 targets per game, Evans posted WR2 or better-type numbers in just 38.5 percent of his games. That ranked 28th among wide receivers. Seriously, guys like Sterling Shepard, Cole Beasley, and Jamison Crowder had higher percentages. Now you take away Jameis Winston, someone who was more than willing to throw the ball into tight coverage all the time, and swap him with one of the most risk averse quarterbacks in football? Evans' 2.4 yards of separation at target was one of the worst marks among wide receivers, and while it doesn't tell the full story, those who watch Evans knows he uses his body extremely well to box out defenders rather than gain multiple yards of separation with precision route running. Look, he's still a good player who's totaled at least 1,000 yards in each of his first six NFL seasons, so I'm not completely writing him off, though it does help that he's seen at least 8.7 targets per game over the last five years. I don't think Brady is as bad as some think at throwing the deep ball anymore, I just don't think he does it nearly as often as Winston did/was willing to. I'm expecting a slight dip in targets and less air yards, which in turn, equals less production for a player like Evans. It's not bad if you land him as your WR2, but I wouldn't recommend him as a WR1.

A healthy Matt Stafford is the key for top 5 WR fantasy territory this seasonI have a feeling Brady to Evans will be the undefendable duo this season.

Golladay is a dangerous pick at ADP, but his talent is noteworthy. If Stafford stays healthy, he should be a red zone threat and projects for a Courtland Sutton-esque 2020 campaign.Evans is the forgotten man in fantasy, and one of the most consistent we've seen. He should be Brady's best friend near the end zone, and is a safe pick for teams who hold off on the top tier.

Even with Matthew Stafford missing a large portion of the 2019 season, Golladay still managed to put up over 1,100 yards and 11 TDs. Now, with Stafford slated to return, Golladay could be on track for an even bigger season.Unlike his fellow Bucs WR Chris Godwin, I see the switch from Winston to Brady as a slight downgrade for Evans. With Winston at QB, Evans was known for being a deep threat and someone who would get plenty of 50/50 type balls. I don't expect that to continue with Brady at QB. That being said, it should make Evans more consistent even if it lowers his ceiling a bit.

No. 5 WR in FAN PTS despite 8 DNPs from QB Stafford - elite vertical threat tied NFL lead with 16 catches of 20+ air yards - also No.1 with 6 TD catches inside 10 yardsQB Brady is still throwing a decent deep ball, which should help one of NFL's premier power forward receiving targets top 1,000 yards for a 7th straight season

With Stafford(8 games): 7.75 targets/game - 35/521/7 = 70/1042/14 on 124 targets. He's been very productive on relatively limited targets the past 2 years. A increased roll for Hockenson COULD take away the TD upside. They brought back Amendola, who for some reason, commanded 97 targets last year.If anything, haven't we learned that it doesn't matter what position you play if you're talented? Brady's used Cooks, Moss, Edelman, Gronk.. I had a stat that I didn't know what to do with in Godwin's notes that is also obviously relevant here. Evan's reliance on the deep ball is over stated. Not only on counting stats, but also behind the scenes in reception perception. Mike Evans is good at separating against man and press coverage and while he's elite at contested catches, that doesn't have to be his game. We should stop knocking an all around good WR for being exceptionally good on deep balls.

Golladay won me over in 2019, he finished with 1,190 yards and 11 receiving touchdowns, despite QB Matthew Stafford missing eight games. The 27-year old should be an elite WR1 in 2020, especially if Stafford can stay healthy this year.Evans had 1,157 yards receiving and eight receiving touchdowns as the deep threat in this offense. He is probably the player most hurt by the acquisition of QB Tom Brady, Brady has always been more about short passes and his arm strength was suspect at the end of last year.

Golladay was a top-tier fantasy option all last season even without Matthew Stafford at QB. With Stafford now healthy, Golladay should be in the WR1 conversation for fantasy football all year and has the skillset and potential to single-handedly win you a week.Evans could see a slight step backwards with Tom Brady behind center now, but he's still going to be incredibly productive. Brady can still air the ball out downfield and those targets are incredibly valuable for Evans' fantasy production. Brady's going to learn to trust Evans early on and he'll see plenty of targets this year. Evans should be a consistent WR2 option all season long with upside.

Golladay paced for 1,238 yards, 14 scores, and 13 fppg in Matthew Stafford's eight starts. What he loses in volume will be offset with accuracy. He got 120 targets and caught 67. He could turn that same 120 into 85 with TB12. @DFFMemphis

An insane 1100 yards and 11 TDs considering the creatures hucking the rock. Will be the most obvious candidate to ascend to the Elite WR1s in 2020, and the ideal Round 3 Top WR target after a RB RB start.Evans is SO damn good.. but will Brady give him as many one-to-ones as Jameis was willing to? Does he have the arm to fully unload? I think yes, but he concerns me more than Godwin with this switch
