Zachary Hanshew
FantasyPros
We're just a season removed from Minshew's quality innaugural campaign and it seems as though the Minshew Mania has subsided. The sixth-round rookie went for 3,271 passing yards, 21 TDs and just 6 INTs in his first season and will look to build on those numbers as the unquestioned starter of a Jacksonville team that should be playing from behind most Sundays. He's dangerously undervalued as the consensus QB21.
Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
Volume. The Jags are shooting for 0-16, it seems, and they should pass a ton in 2020. So, there's that.Rivers has the pocket presence and timing to still be a top-10 fantasy passer, but he slid to QB18 last year, is aging, turns the ball over, and now has a downgrade in system and weapons.
Draft Engine
Draft Engine
Jacksonville's trade of Nick Foles to Chicago opened the door for Minshew and his impressive mustache to begin 2020 as the Jaguars' starter. He seemed to make strides as a rookie, throwing eight TD passes with only two turnovers over five December games.Signed by the Colts to a one-year contract in March, Rivers is back with coach Frank Reich. He enjoyed one of the best three-year stretches of his career from 2013 to '15. (Reich was San Diego's QBs coach in 2013, then offensive coordinator in 2014 and '15.)
Bart Wheeler
Hail to Fantasy Football
With Fournette gone, this could mean even more pass and rush attempts for Minshew. He's in my top-20, and I'd be fine with him as my starting fantasy QB Week 1 against the Colts.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
I'll admit it, I was wrong. I was sure the Jags would bring in some serious competition for GMII but instead they brought in some really sensible supporting pieces, a raw rookie and Mike Glennon. This isn't Minshew's position to lose, it's Minshew's role for 2020 and maybe beyond. While I don't think it's impossible Doug Marrone brings in Cam Newton, i reckon it's more likely the Jags stick with Minshew through 2020 and reassess before the 2021 draft. While they may be in full rebuild, there's likely to be enough passing volume in this attack to make Gardner a low level streaming option this season with upside for more if things really click.Philip Rivers is a really tough one to rank in 2020. While I like the idea of him playing behind an elite O-line, I don't think this offense will have enough passing volume to make him a viable weekly fantasy option. He's a nice, safe streamer/bye week cover/superflex option but in Indy, I don't see him managing much else.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
It was quite miraculous what Minshew accomplished in 2020, especially when you factor in the lack of draft capital (sixth-round pick) they used to acquire him. Don't understand just how good he was? Put his numbers up next to Kyler Murray's. Minshew averaged more yards and passing touchdowns, while having fewer interceptions per game. And keep in mind that Minshew didn't even start two of the games included in that sample. Am I going to say that he should be drafted like Murray? No. However, he is being undervalued by those in 2QB leagues. The average quarterback rushes for a touchdown every 96.2 yards rushing. Had Minshew scored three rushing touchdowns (instead of the zero that he did) on 344 rushing yards, he would've finished as the No. 14 fantasy quarterback... in his rookie season... as a sixth-round pick. The Jaguars defense is as bad as ever, so we'll see plenty of pass attempts out of him. It should also be noted that Jay Gruden (his new coordinator) has produced top-14 quarterbacks in 6-of-9 years, and the years he didn't, there were injuries and/or multiple quarterbacks playing. Minshew has zero competition and can potentially be a Jameis Winston-lite in 2020. He's the perfect target in 2QB leagues and will be streamable quite a bit in 1QB leagues. There's no masking it, Rivers was bad in 2019. He's now 38 years old (will be 39 in December), which is the age quarterbacks used to hit their decline (before Brady and Brees came along). Have we reached the end with him? He played behind a bad offensive line last year, something he's done through much of his career. In 2020, he'll play behind a top-three offensive line in football. He has already played under Frank Reich back when he threw for 4,286 yards and 31 touchdowns, then a career-high 4,792 yards and 29 touchdowns in 2015. Does that make a difference knowing it was five years ago? Well, yeah, in a way. The good news is that he at least knows the basics of the offense, which is important this year when we've had practically no offseason. The bad news is that chemistry will have to be built on the fly, and it's even harder when your top receiver (T.Y. Hilton) shows up to camp on the injured list. We did see Jacoby Brissett and Brian Hoyer combine for 22 touchdown passes last year and Andrew Luck throw for 39 touchdowns in 2018, so it's a good offense. If you want to select Rivers in a 2QB format, it could pay dividends, though his fantasy floor might be a bit lower than someone like Gardner Minshew who uses his legs. There are way too many variables to consider him anything more than a streamer in 1QB formats.

The return of #MinshewMagic and I.....am.....all.....in!I swear I am the only one who is higher on Rivers than most, throwing behind a much better offensive line, indoors under a coach who is familiar with all of his strength and weakness, Rivers can most certainly get the job done in Indy

The Minshew hype is getting a bit out of control. Last year he was 21st in PPG for QBs and that was even with 344 rushing yards. He simply does not have many weapons outside of Chark.

In 6 points per passing TD leagues, Gardner Minshew scored 18+ points in 9 of his 12 starts. Now, as he enters year 2, he's the unquestioned starter for the Jaguars and the expectations will be high. He has a decent group of WRs to throw to and a solid run game which will help but I still don't see him as someone worth drafting in 1 QB leagues.Seeing Rivers in a different uniform will be strange but I don't see his fantasy production to change all that much. He has a solid WR1 in T.Y. Hilton and a trusty TE in Jack Doyle. He'll have his big games but will also give you the occasional turnover-fest. I like more reliability at QB, he doesn't need to be drafted in 1 QB leagues.

Minshew surprisingly ran for 344 yards last year, which will always help boost fantasy value. He'll be a fringe starter every single week and is currently a steal at his QB27 ADP price tag. It's highly unlikely that we see Rivers enter into the streaming QB conversation at all this season. With Rivers' high interception totals from last season, plus his inability to pick up yards on the ground, he's unlikely to ever finish within the top-12 QBs in a given week.

Minshew was a top ten fantasy quarterback from weeks 1-9 last season, has upgraded weapons surrounding him, underrated rushing ability (344 yards rushing in 14 games, fifth most in the league) @mrhill9169 Gardner Minshew had the third-best passer rating on play-action throws last year (136.4), but the lowest rate of play-action passes (14%) among 34 qualifying QBs (via PFF). @Pat_ThormanSolid upgrade over Brissett, +4.6% Accurate & Frame throws, -3.4% Uncatchable rate.

IND just came off a season with the 3rd fewest passing yards in the league, with 3108. And not for lack of trying. Phil has thrown for 4000 3 times with fewer ATT than what Indy had last year

Should benefit from enormous line improvement, but the weapons downgrade is steep, and his arm looked cooked last year. Added some nice draft day weaponry, love Pittman.
