Colin Kaepernick could remain with 49ers in 2017

Kaepernick is due a $15 million base salary for 2017 if he remains with the 49ers and is currently the only signal caller signed with the club entering next season. However, San Francisco has yet to make a decision on his future as they could elect to release him with "little" salary cap ramifications. Furthur reports state that Kaepernick and 49ers brass will "sit down" later in the offseason and assess their situation to "figure out" whether or not he is a good fit for the team's new system.
