Quarterback
Matt Hasselbeck – Indianapolis Colts ($26)
@ Pittsburgh Steelers
Hasselbeck should be able to do some damage against a Pittsburgh secondary that just allowed Russell Wilson to throw for five touchdowns in Week 12. Pittsburgh’s defense has struggled against the pass but has been stout against the run this season, meaning the Colts will have to throw often if they want to keep pace with a high-powered Pittsburgh attack. On the year, Pittburgh has been a favorable matchup for opposing quarterbacks, allowing the eighth-most points per game at 18.9.
Other notables:
- Marcus Mariota ($29)
- Russell Wilson ($29)
- Brock Osweiler ($27)
- Matt Schaub ($21)
Running Back
David Johnson – Arizona Cardinals ($10)
vs. St. Louis Rams
It’s hard not to get excited about playing Johnson this week, especially at just $10. He will be highly owned, but that shouldn’t be much of a concern as his low price opens up salary to spend elsewhere. St. Louis’ defense has struggled against the run as of late, coughing up 86 yards to Jeremy Hill in Week 12, 73 yards and a touchdown to Jeremy Langford in Week 10, and 125 yards and a touchdown to Adrian Peterson in Week 9. Johnson has a unique blend of power and speed and is in line for a big game this weekend in the high-powered Arizona offense.
Other notables:
- Javorius Allen ($19)
- Jeremy Langford ($15)
- C.J. Anderson ($14)
- Shaun Draughn ($11)
Wide Receiver
Kamar Aiken – Baltimore Ravens ($17)
@ Miami Dolphins
Aiken showed in Week 12 that he can be productive, even without Joe Flacco running the offense. Aiken and Matt Schaub connected for six catches, which went for 80 yards and a touchdown. This week, Aiken should be able to find room to operate against a Miami defense that is ranked just 27th in the league in DVOA, allowing the eighth-most wide receiver points per game.
Other notables:
- T.Y. Hilton ($19)
- Doug Baldwin ($18)
- Steve Johnson ($17)
- Donte Moncrief ($16)
- Kendall Wright ($15)
Tight End
Scott Chandler – New England Patriots ($10)
vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Slated to take over at tight end with Rob Gronkowski sidelined for a week or so, Chandler has immediate value on an explosive New England offense. The big 6-foot-7 tight end should immediately become one of Tom Brady‘s top red-zone targets. On an offense that is in the red zone quite often, that makes Chandler a very valuable fantasy commodity. Philadelphia has been tough against tight ends this year, but their defense has also become increasingly less effective as the year has gone on.
Other notables:
- Luke Willson ($10)
- Kyle Rudolph ($10)
- Vance McDonald ($10)
Defense
Chicago Bears ($11)
vs. San Francisco 49ers
The Chicago defense has gotten increasingly better as we get deeper into the season, holding Aaron Rodgers and the Packers to just one touchdown last week and allowing just five touchdowns total over the past four weeks. Blaine Gabbert has played much better than expected for the 49ers, but their offense is still severely limited and lacks any significant upside. The Bears’ defense at home against a poor offense should equate to fantasy success this weekend.
Other notables:
- Washington Redskins ($12)
- Miami Dolphins ($11)
