Kyle Yates’ 2020 NFL Draft Big Board (3.0)

Kyle Yates’ 2020 NFL Draft Big Board (3.0)

This time of year certainly looks a lot different than what we were anticipating only a month ago. The NFL Draft will now officially be conducted remotely and virtually, which extends down to even NFL front offices.

These are unprecedented times and the entire globe is affected by what’s currently happening with coronavirus. With that being said, we’re all in this together, and we’re going to make it through it.

The NFL Draft is still chugging along though and, because of that, we’ve got topics that we need to talk about! It’s been a while since my last Big Board update, so below you’ll find where players have shifted and moved around based on my grading scale.

As a reminder, I complete my evaluation on prospects in two phases.

The first phase is Tape Evaluation. This involves sitting down and watching three games minimum on each of these prospects listed below. Based on eight specific characteristics/traits, I will assign them an overall grade. This was the phase of the process that resulted in my first NFL Draft Big Board.

The second phase is Combine & Injury Rating. This grade is added to the tape evaluation grade already in place and is reflected in how well they performed at the NFL Combine (using Adjusted SPARQ) and whether or not they have legitimate injury concerns. Since some players were unable to participate at the NFL Combine and the majority of Pro Days have been cancelled, I’ve had to rely on the tape for these players and estimate what their testing numbers would be. With that being said, this may be a blessing in disguise and force myself (and other talent evaluators) to rely heavily on what these players displayed on the field versus what they can do without the ball in their hands.

If you do not see a player listed below, it’s because I have not gotten to their tape just yet. I will not rank a player if they have not met my minimum tape requirements.

With all that being said, let’s dive right in to my NFL Draft Big Board 3.0.
