Players to Buy Low & Sell High in Week 8
Buy Low
Dalton Kincaid (TE – BUF)
“The Buffalo Bills are coming off their bye week following an awful Week 6 performance on offense, where they totaled a season-low 180 passing yards. Unfortunately, Dalton Kincaid missed the loss to the Atlanta Falcons because of an oblique injury, but he should be ready for Sunday’s matchup against the Carolina Panthers. The former Utah star was the TE2 before getting hurt, averaging four receptions on 4.8 targets for 57.4 receiving yards and 13.3 PPR fantasy points per game, totaling 14.8 or more in 60% of the contests. Fantasy players must trade for him before Sunday’s matchup, as the Panthers have surrendered 15.9 fantasy points per game to tight ends, one of the highest averages in the NFL. Furthermore, Kincaid has fantasy-friendly matchups against the Miami Dolphins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers over the next month. I would give up Kyle Pitts or Travis Kelce to land Kincaid.”
– Mike Fanelli (FantasyPros)
George Kittle (TE – SF)
“George Kittle. People held on to him, and he came back and gave them nothing. They are likely desperate, and once he has a big game, the window will close. Tight Ends are hard to find, and he gets the Titans, Colts, and Bears in the championship. Purdy will be back soon, and Kittle’s boom weeks can be league-winning. See if you can find someone excited about Gadsen, Mason Taylor, or Theo Johnson to pair with a WR to get George. If I had Dallas Goedert, I would sell high and try to see if I could get George Kittle plus.”
– David Heilman (Sports Gambling Podcast Network)
Jacory Croskey-Merritt (RB – WAS)
“Heading into Week 8 of the NFL season, my favorite buy-low trade candidate is Commanders’ running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt. “Bill” is a versatile back who’s been the lead back in a make-shift three-back committee since the injury to Austin Ekeler and trade of Brian Robinson Jr. He has flashes of explosive vision and receiving chops give him immense upside, as we’ve seen in Week 5 when he exploded for 111 rushing yards and two touchdowns against the Los Angeles Chargers. His ability to break big runs and catch passes out of the backfield makes him a perfect RB2 target with RB1 upside as the Commanders’ offense gets healthier and improves its upside. The past two games have tanked his value, turning him into a bargain for patient owners eyeing a workload surge. For him, I’d willingly give up a mid-tier wide receiver like Tee Higgins, who, despite surging in Week 7 with new quarterback Joe Flacco, is a constant injury risk and is as inconsistent as receivers get. Grab him now, as the hype has faded and the storm has calmed before it explodes in the second half of the year.”
– Aaron St Denis (Fantasy Sports Advice Network)
Matthew Golden (WR – GB)
“My favorite buy-low trade candidate is Matthew Golden. While he hasn’t been the best option for fantasy, his usage has steadily increased in Green Bay’s offense. He’s the X-factor for the Packers, and Matt LaFleur knows getting him the ball is the key to unlocking this offense. For a guy who has finished as a WR3 or better in three of the last four weeks, you can probably pick him up for any bench piece and possibly even off waivers. He may not get you WR2 numbers this year, but for his price, it’s worth taking a flier on him.”
– Trevor Land (FlurrySports)
Ashton Jeanty (RB – LV)
“Ashton Jeanty totaled only seven opportunities (six rushes, one catch) in Week 7’s blowout loss to the Chiefs – a sharp drop from the 21.67 he was averaging in his previous three games. The struggling Raiders offense has been missing Brock Bowers and also played this week without Jakobi Meyers, both of whom should return following the team’s bye. We should expect Jeanty’s workload to be among the league leaders for the remainder of the season – he is currently 10th in PlayerProfiler’s Opportunity Share metric. Jeanty himself has performed well, ranking 11th in Juke Rate and 7th in Yards Created. If you can trade a TD-dependent RB, such as Kyren Williams, for Jeanty, I would be all over it.”
– Charlie Sisian (The Fantasy DC)
Rome Odunze (WR – CHI)
“The flames have cooled, but don’t get it twisted: Rome Odunze is still cookin’. Go out and be aggressive to acquire him because he’s still the WR to own in Chicago. He’s leading the Bears by a wide margin in targets per game (7.3), receiving yards per game (nearly 60), and first-read share (27.4%). He has the potential to create some fireworks in the next month with games against the Ravens, Bengals, Giants, and Vikings. If I’m deep at RB, I’d move Cam Skattebo or even flip Garrett Wilson or D.K. Metcalf to get him. Rome may not have been built in a day, but in your league, it can sure be bought in one.”
– Kyle Zeigler (Fantasy In Frames)
“You absolutely need to get Rome Odunze right now. His last two down weeks have created the perfect panic buy opportunity for a player who was producing like a WR1 earlier in the year. Forget the recent box scores and bet on his early-season role in this Bears offense. Plus, with a soft schedule on the horizon, it’s a good time to get yourself a reliable WR for the business end of the year at a discount price!”
– Luke Renton (The Franchise Tag UK)
Brian Thomas Jr. (WR – JAC)
“I’m looking over at Brian Thomas Jr in Jacksonville. Drafted as an elite WR1, his drops and lack of consistency have left fantasy owners reeling (T-32 in 1/2 PPR leagues). But perhaps there’s hope ahead with more reps and targets for Travis Hunter. The schedule is certainly rife with opportunity. I’d look to swing a deal with an RB akin to Kenneth Walker III (still has a sizable workload is the sell).”
– Mike Harmon (Swollen Dome)
Brashard Smith (RB – KC)
“I’m all about going after Brashard Smith this week. I get a lot of his production came in garbage time last week, but this Kansas City offense is now at full strength with a healthy Rashee Rice and there will be plenty more garbage-time opportunities to come. There is also the potential that Smith grows into the former Jerick-McKinnon receiving-back role and continues to see the four targets per game he’s earned over the past month. He’s a buy-low right now because his production and opportunity could skyrocket with injury, an escalation in usage, and a decent schedule ahead. Plus, the bye week is on its way in Week 10, for a potential rookie bump. I’d send a WR like Darnell Mooney, Marvin Mims, or even Stefon Diggs, assuming I’m stacked at the position, to land Smith.”
– Jeremy Shulman (Fantasy Football Universe)
Tua Tagovailoa (QB – MIA)
“Tua Tagovailoa stinks! The Dolphins are terrible right now, and it is possible that they will not turn the ship around, but there is a chance that they rebound (see Miami Dolphins 2024), and owners can get a terrible quarterback for very cheap! Currently, Tua is barely a QB2 in fantasy, and he is coming off a 3-interception game, but he is coming off a 2-week span with pretty good defenses (LAC, CLE). Looking at the rest of the season, his schedule isn’t overly challenging except for ATL & BUF, which could make a simple trade payoff in the case of injuries or bolstering a 2QB roster down the stretch. Trade for him now, where you can get him for almost any QB3 (Ward, Smith), RB3 (Marks, Kamara), or WR3 (or possibly less) from owners who have had their weeks wrecked by his putrid performances. At the current price, if he continues to falter, he can be dropped, and teams will not be losing a valuable weapon, BUT, if he turns it around, owners could have a sneaky efficient quarterback.”

Sell High
D’Andre Swift (RB – CHI)
“My favorite sell-high candidate going into NFL Week 8 is Bears running back D’Andre Swift. Swift’s value has been the beneficiary of recent boom games, aided by explosive runs and goal-line touches, but over the length of his career, he has never stood up to a heavy workload and has been best served as the receiving back in a running back committee. At some point, his explosive runs will begin to fade, and his value will plummet once the inevitable injury pops up, making this a perfect opportunity to flip him for a consistent producer like Steelers wide receiver D.K. Metcalf, whose veteran quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, peppers his WR1 every week. It’s time to cash out high on Swift while you can.”
– Aaron St Denis (Fantasy Sports Advice Network)
“My favorite sell-high candidate is D’Andre Swift. I was and have been a big fan of his this season, but after two weeks in a row with over 100 rushing yards, he’s due for some regression. Add in that he has been used in the passing game less since the bye week, and I think now is the perfect time to sell him. I think you could probably turn him around for a low RB2 and a fringe WR2/3 if you need depth.”
– Trevor Land (FlurrySports)
“On the back of two efficient performances, D’Andre Swift is currently the RB11 in PPR points per game – quickly becoming a highly valued fantasy asset. However, Kyle Monangai quietly got more involved in Week 7 (totaling 94 yards on 16 opportunities). While Monangai is unlikely to be fantasy-relevant himself, he could carve out a role large enough to hurt Swift’s appeal. Swift’s next two matchups (@BAL, @CIN) are advantageous ones, so you could choose to ride Swift out for a week or two more, but he’s someone I’d be looking to move in the near future. Swift should probably be valued as a mid-range RB2, if you can manage to get more for him I’d cash in.”
– Charlie Sisian (The Fantasy DC)
“D’Andre Swift has been nothing but sensational in the revamped Bears offense and improved offensive line. Now that we are past the Bears’ bye week, look for Ben Johnson to get rookie Kyle Monangai more involved. Before the Week 5 bye, Monangai only had a 27.8% snap share, but that has climbed to 38.9% since. Over the course of the season, he has averaged 4.6 yards per carry and 2.2 yards after contact per attempt, which is better than Swift’s 1.89. I would send Swift away for a three-down back like Quinshon Judkins, or add another player along with Swift to upgrade to an RB1 like Kyren Williams.”
– Kyle Zeigler (Fantasy In Frames)
Rhamondre Stevenson (RB – NE)
“Rhamondre Stevenson had an outstanding Week 7 performance, finishing as a top-15 running back, totaling 18 rushing attempts for 88 yards, a touchdown, and 16.8 PPR fantasy points, setting season-highs in yards and attempts. However, he faced a Tennessee Titans defense that had surrendered 114 rushing yards and 28 fantasy points per game to running backs over the first six weeks, the fourth-most in the NFL. More importantly, Stevenson has been wildly inconsistent, scoring 14.6 or more fantasy points in three games. By comparison, he has averaged only 4.1 fantasy points per game in the other four contests, scoring 5.1 or less in every outing. Unfortunately, the veteran faces an elite Cleveland Browns defense in Week 8, making him a risky flex play, even with six teams on a bye. I would happily trade away Stevenson to land Breece Hall or even Jacory Croskey-Merritt.”
– Mike Fanelli (FantasyPros)
“It’s time for some tough love: Rhamondre Stevenson is a great trade asset, but he’s not a keeper. Yes, his role is secure, and he’ll give you a reliable floor as an RB2/Flex thanks to his high snap share, but you deserve better. The issue is his brutal 3.6 Yards Per Carry, which is proof that his upside is capped by inefficiency. His big Week 7 stat line is a classic “sell-high” spike after a season high in carries and rushing yards. Cash in now and acquire an RB with a much superior ceiling for your championship run.”
– Luke Renton (The Franchise Tag UK)
Jordan Addison (WR – MIN)
“Jordan Addison has been on fire since returning from suspension. In his first three games back, he has played extremely well against Philly, Pittsburgh, and Cleveland. He has racked up 18 receptions, 283 yards, and a touchdown. All with Carson Wentz slinging it, and Aaron Jones is out of the lineup. J.J. McCarthy and Aaron Jones could return as soon as this week. I really hope J.J. is the guy, but the first couple of games definitely give me pause for concern. Use Addison in a package with your starting QB or TE to trade up for a difference maker at those one-spot positions. Target Lamar Jackson, Brock Bowers, or George Kittle.”
– David Heilman (Sports Gambling Podcast Network)
George Pickens (WR – DAL)
“I love George Pickens (WR4), but I question his week-to-week ceiling with the return of CeeDee Lamb. There are not enough footballs with Jake Ferguson (TE1) running amok, and the continued workload for Javonte Williams. There will be big days, but I fear a roller coaster effect on the campaign. I’d be trolling for RB help, maybe pushing for some shares in James Cook (one helluva sell job to do there) or rolling the dice that Saquon Barkley and the Eagles find better days.”
– Mike Harmon (Swollen Dome)
Oronde Gadsden II (TE – LAC)
“It’s time to sell Oronde Gadsden. He’s an excellent player, but one whose role should be inconsistent with the Chargers likely to throw more often to their three terrific wide receivers. And let’s remember they are also awaiting the return of Omarion Hampton at some point in the next few weeks. There is no guarantee that Gadsden will have this level of production again this season, so I’m fine selling high for a more reliable asset. If you need a TE, I’d easily swap him for Kyle Pitts. If looking at other positions, Courtland Sutton and Alvin Kamara feel like achievable targets that can provide weekly flex value with upside.”
– Jeremy Shulman (Fantasy Football Universe)
Joe Flacco (QB – CIN)
“Joe Flacco had the greatest game of his year last week against the Steelers with 342 yards and three touchdowns! The move to the Bengals has been great for Flacco, who now has legitimate weapons in Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. He will continue to have a good year, but his value is higher than it ever has been ,and this is the time to move him if you have the quarterback depth in 1QB leagues (probably a hold through bye weeks in 2QB leagues. Move him for a WR2 (possibly Drake London, Rome Odunze, both of whom owners might be lower on currently) or an up-and-coming RB2 (Jaylen Warren, Zach Charbonnet) to an owner who is struggling through bye weeks or quarterback injuries/underperformance.”
