Players to Buy Low & Sell High in Week 7

Buy Low

Travis Etienne Jr. (RB – JAC)

Travis Etienne is my buy-low candidate of the week. Over the last couple of weeks, he has put up underwhelming box scores that do not reflect his role as a true workhorse back in the Jags offense. He continues to command a large snap count and remains their undisputed lead back. The recent dip in production opens a brief window to trade for an RB with volume, a rare beast these days. Grab a bargain, go and get yourself a low-end RB1/high-end RB2 for the rest of the season at a cut price.”
Luke Renton (The Franchise Tag UK)

Javonte Williams (RB – DAL)

Javonte Williams had a disappointing week 6 with 29 yards rushing and 5 yards receiving in a game where Dallas put up 27 points! Many owners are still sleeping on him even though he is the RB4 in half-PPR this year. He has 3 top 4 or better finishes this year and is the lead back on a high-powered offense. Carolina has a decent run defense, which would explain the down Week 6. Grab Williams before he has the bounce back and his value increases. Offer owners down on him package deals that include players who had spike weeks and are soon to be in committees, like Rico Dowdle, or players filling in for an injured running back, including Kamani Vidal, Zonovan Knight “Bam”, or Rachaad White.”
Adam Dove (The Fantasy Couriers)

A.J. Brown (WR – PHI)

A.J. Brown’s stakeholders are no doubt frustrated with the way the season has gone and should be willing to field reasonable offers. Brown is averaging 45.7 receiving yards per game, has one touchdown, and was sitting at WR47 in half-point PPR fantasy points per game as of Monday morning. I’d be willing to offer Alvin Kamara or Travis Etienne for Brown.”
Pat Fitzmaurice (FantasyPros)

Saquon Barkley (RB – PHI)

“My favorite fantasy football buy-low trade candidate heading into Week 7 is Saquon Barkley (RB-PHI). After his Week 6 Thursday night performance, many a fantasy league manager is regretting taking Barkley as high as they did in fantasy league drafts this year. He has been a top 17 RB in all six games this season. Philadelphia had to play from behind against the New York Giants in week 6, resulting in fewer rushing attempts. You can also inform your league trading partner that Barkley has an upcoming week 9 bye to help you sell the trade offer. I’d be willing to give up a 3rd or 4th round player that is currently exceeding their draft day value.”
Jeff Boggis (Fantasy Football Empire)

Justin Fields (QB – NYJ)

“Unfortunately, Justin Fields mightily struggled against the Denver Broncos in Week 6, taking nine sacks. The veteran completed 52.9% of his 17 pass attempts for 45 yards and only 4.9 fantasy points, totaling seven rushing attempts for 31 yards. However, most quarterbacks struggle against the Broncos’ elite defense. Meanwhile, Fields has been outstanding in his other three healthy contests this season, averaging 242.3 passing yards, 1.3 touchdowns, and 27.5 fantasy points per game. Furthermore, the former Ohio State star was outstanding in those games on the ground, averaging 8.7 rushing attempts for 51.7 yards and a touchdown per contest. The schedule gets easier for the veteran, with matchups against the Carolina Panthers and Cincinnati Bengals over the next two weeks. If I can sell high on Jaxson Dart or Sam Darnold for Fields, I would do that in a heartbeat.”
Mike Fanelli (FantasyPros)

Davante Adams (WR – LAR)

Davante Adams has been good, but not great, this season. With Puka Nacua missing time with an ankle injury, the Adams manager will see the path to increased production. However, there is increased production, and then there is being a top 12 option for the next five games. That’s how I am viewing Adams with or without Puka. Over their next five games, the Rams play beatable secondaries and high-scoring offences. Adams leads the league in red zone targets with 13, but has only caught 2. That usage is elite, and it’s only a matter of time before Stafford and he start clicking. He has top 5 upside without Puka, and will be a top 12 guy with him. You can likely acquire him for Courtland Sutton or Jaylen Waddle.”
– Ellis Johnson (FantasyPros)

Chris Olave (WR – NO)

Chris Olave is a player I’m interested in acquiring if his current manager is frustrated with his fantasy scores. Through six weeks, he ranks second in targets, fifth in receptions, ninth in air yards, and is top 10 among all WRs in first-read share percentage. He’s not finding the end zone, which is why he’s WR26 in half-PPR. Now is the perfect time to trade for Chris Olave. He faces the Bears, Bucs, Rams, and Panthers before his Week 11 bye, all plus WR matchups. If I’m deep at RB, I’d unload Travis Etienne for him. I would also swap D.J. Moore or Marvin Harrison Jr.straight up for Olave.”
Kyle Zeigler (Fantasy In Frames)

Courtland Sutton (WR – DEN)

Courtland Sutton had a down day this past Sunday. Maybe it’s his age or his offense, but people also don’t think Sutton is very good. Just one reception for 17 yards could be enough for fantasy managers to feel like Sutton is on the decline, but his WR13 overall standing this season and his upcoming schedule tell a different story. Thankfully, you might not have to give up a ton to get Sutton. But I’ll give up a Rico Dowdle level of player with inflated production to snag Sutton’s services, likely with a nice piece added on. Straight up, I’d offer Harold Fannin and see if I get a bite.”
Jeremy Shulman (Fantasy Football Universe)

Kenneth Walker III (RB – SEA)

“I’m probably alone here, but I’m targeting Kenneth Walker III in trades this week. Walker has had a rough few weeks since finishing as RB9 and RB10 in Weeks 2 and 3. He’s finished outside the top 24 RBs every week since, but he’s still getting double-digit carries. He’s just not finding the end zone, which limits his scoring. It’s only a matter of time until that changes, but current managers might be frustrated by his lackluster performance. I’d try to send a bench WR for him to see if I can add an RB to my roster as we head down the stretch and injuries start piling up more than they already are.”
Andrew Hall (FantasyPros)

Jacory Croskey-Merritt (RB – WAS)

“Any team looking for RB help headed into Week 7 should be looking at BILL (Croskey-Merritt). It wasn’t amazing this week for him against a Bears defense he really should have taken advantage of, but the signs are there that it is full go for Bill. Those who wanted to see the usage continue after his Week 5 breakout, well, you got it. Bill gathered 17 carries, with Jeremy McNichols being the only other running back to register any carries for Washington (2). On top of that, the Commanders face a Cowboys defense next that, quite frankly, can’t stop a nose bleed. If D’Andre Swift, who scored in the Bears’ win over Washington, or either Seattle RB through name value can be used to acquire Bill Croskey-Merritt, do it.”
Ed Birdsall (Talking Points Sports)

Tee Higgins (WR – CIN)

“My favorite buy-low candidate is Tee Higgins. He’s certainly had a rough start to the season and has struggled to rack up receptions and even targets. Over the last three weeks, Higgins has averaged seven targets a game (up from under 5 in the first three weeks). With a more stable quarterback in Flacco at the helm, he should finally get back to fringe WR2/WR3 status.”
Trevor Land (FlurrySports)

Isiah Pacheco (RB – KC)

“Alright, I FINALLY know what I want to do with Isiah Pacheco. And that’s buy. No doubt it’s been tough sledding for the Chiefs’ backfield. But Pacheco has looked good the last few weeks. The snap share also continues to climb. 77% in Week 6 (season-high in carries at 12), after a season-high number in Week 5. It’s trending all the way up for Pacheco. Per Next Gen Stats, he had four rushes of 15-plus yards vs Detroit. He had four combined leading up to Week 6. Pacheco also had three targets to Hunt’s one (Brashard Smith drew 4). More importantly, the Chiefs RB had four red-zone carries to Hunt’s one. Hunt had just five routes to Pacheco’s 19 (50%). If the Chiefs offense turns back into a fantasy wagon…I think dumpster diving for Pacheco is a sharp move to make—top-10 ROS schedule for RBs per the FP SOS tool. Trade a bench WR like Jakobi Meyers or an RB such as Tony Pollard for Pacheco.”

Sell High

Kendrick Bourne (WR – SF)

Kendrick Bourne’s big Week 6 (5 catches for 142 yards, with numbers slightly inflated by two deep shots) creates the perfect sell-high opportunity. While his chemistry with Mac Jones is real, his recent spike in production is a direct result of a severely depleted receiver room. The impending return of key 49ers target-hogs, George Kittle and Ricky Pearsall, will immediately halt Bourne’s recent surge in production. If you can, trade him now to capitalise on his unsustainable WR1 production before the 49ers’ weapons return, and he becomes fantasy irrelevant. It’s only a small window, but now is the time to try and sell high if you can.”
Luke Renton (The Franchise Tag UK)

Rico Dowdle (RB – CAR)

Rico Dowdle is on fire! In the last two weeks, he has run for 206 and 183 yards!! Do remember that those games were against the Miami Dolphins and Dallas Cowboys, two of the worst teams against the run. Regardless of how well Dowdle has played, Chubba Hubbard, who was having a pretty good season himself and just signed a big contract, will be returning soon. I do not expect Dowdle to disappear, but I can see this backfield becoming a 50/50 split or even playing the hot hand each game, which could change week to week depending on who has the open hole on an early drive. Rico Dowdle’s value will not be higher than it is now. Trade him for running backs who people are lower on, but have the backfield to themself like Derek Henry (maybe too late), Jacory Croskey-Merritt, Javonte Williams, or plan ahead by trading for an injured back like Bucky Irving, who should be back soon.”
Adam Dove (The Fantasy Couriers)

“Easily, EASILY, Rico Dowdle. In the last two weeks combined, Dowdle has had 53 carries for 389 yards and two total scores. It is a nice story, absolutely, but the reality is Chuba Hubbard will be back for Carolina soon. Will the return of Hubbard make things messy in the Carolina backfield? Absolutely. Carolina PAID Chuba Hubbard last season, so any thought of Dowdle coming in and becoming the new number one back is ridiculous, at best. If Dowdle could be packaged to acquire a Mike Evans, who will be returning this week, or a Derrick Henry, who is on bye, go for it and cash in.”
Ed Birdsall (Talking Points Sports)

Quinshon Judkins (RB – CLE)

“Everyone loves a workhorse running back. Personally, I prefer workhorses who play in good offenses. That’s not really the case with rookie Quinshon Judkins, who’s been terrific despite playing for the punchless Browns. Judkins’ early-season magic could dissipate over time. After averaging 5.5 yards per carry in his first two games, Judkins has averaged a more modest 4.1 yards per carry over his last three. Judkins had eight catches in his first three games; he’s had one catch in his last two games, on three targets. And of course, the touchdown outlook is somewhat grim for a running back playing for a team that has scored eight touchdowns in its first five games. If I had adequate RB depth, I’d be willing to trade Judkins for Brian Thomas Jr., Courtland Sutton, or, if I were in rough shape at tight end, Tyler Warren.”
Pat Fitzmaurice (FantasyPros)

Kimani Vidal (RB – LAC)

“My favorite sell-high candidate after Week 6 is Kimani Vidal (RB-LAC). This is because of several reasons. The first is his Week 6 performance, where he finished with 124 rushing yards, 14 receiving yards, and 1 TD. He’s unlikely to approach these stats again this season. The second is that Miami had allowed the most rushing yards per game, even before its week 6 matchup. He’s going to face tougher opponents in the next three weeks, such as Indianapolis, Minnesota, and Tennessee. The third is that Hassan Haskins can become the hot hand and, at the very least, become a running back by committee with Kimani Vidal. And fourth is that Omarion Hampton could return from the IR as early as week 10, which would force Vidal as nothing more than a bench player on your fantasy roster. I’d even try to get Omarion Hampton in return in a trade of Kimani Vidal!”
Jeff Boggis (Fantasy Football Empire)

Cam Skattebo (RB – NYG)

Cam Skattebo has played well since Tyrone Tracy Jr. suffered a shoulder injury in Week 3, averaging 17.3 rushing attempts for 74 yards, a touchdown, and 20.6 PPR fantasy points per game. The rookie had a three-touchdown performance on Thursday night that likely won many fantasy players their Week 6 matchup. While fantasy players shouldn’t force a team, they should explore sell-high trade offers for the former Arizona State star. Skattebo has averaged 4.29 yards per rushing attempt over the past month, including 3.96 before the Week 6 matchup. Furthermore, Tracy only played 32% of the snaps last week, coming off the injury, getting only four touches. He should see more work the further he gets past the injury. As crazy as it might sound, I would happily trade away Skattebo to land Saquon Barkley or Bucky Irving.”
Mike Fanelli (FantasyPros)

“I’m shopping who? Cam Skattebo, that’s who. I love what he’s done for the Giants, but after that three-touchdown game against Philly, his value has never been higher. He’s got a trip to Denver next, where teams average just 89 rushing yards per game. After that comes a rematch in Philly, likely against Jalen Carter. The Giants also face Green Bay and Detroit, both top-eight defenses in fewest fantasy points allowed to running backs. I’d trade Skattebo for Quinshon Judkins, or even Isiah Pacheco, whose schedule looks glorious. You could even get an extra piece on top.”
Kyle Zeigler (Fantasy In Frames)

George Pickens (WR – DAL)

“Okay, hear me out. George Pickens is one of the hottest receivers in the league and is the perfect sell-high candidate. With six touchdowns in his last five games, things couldn’t be going much better for the first-year Cowboy. However, CeeDee Lamb is returning this week and will step back into the top role on this offense. Plus, Jake Ferguson has become a significant part of this offence and will not disappear in Lamb’s return. The Cowboys also have a tough schedule ahead. This is a great time to try to acquire an elite player who may be injured or underperforming. For example, I would kick the tires on Puka Nacua and Emeka Egbuka, or look to flip for clear #1 options such as Ja’Marr Chase or Drake London.”
Ellis Johnson (FantasyPros)

“Skattebo and Dowdle are the easy answers here, so I’ll dig a little deeper and sell George Pickens. I know he’s been phenomenal, but we all know who CeeDee Lamb is, including his quarterback, Dak Prescott. Jake Ferguson will also continue to see looks, especially in the red zone. Pickens will continue to be a nice WR2 asset for your fantasy squad, but he won’t be the overall WR3. And with Lamb expected to be back in a week or two, I’m looking to get out of Pickens at peak value. I’d move him for James Cook, who hasn’t scored in two weeks, straight up – which could be possible with Cook also on bye this week.”
Jeremy Shulman (Fantasy Football Universe)

George Pickens has been BALLING. But eventually, CeeDee Lamb will return, and that will impact Pickens‘ elite WR1 production. He is currently 3rd in expected fantasy points scored above expectation (4th in PPG above expectation). I want to at least try to sell based on Lamb’s return. I fully acknowledge that this works better in theory than in practice. Still, you should at least put him on the block and entertain some trades. Flip him for Rashee Rice, Davante Adams (Puka injury), or Brian Thomas Jr.
– Andrew Erickson (FantasyPros)

Jaxon Smith-Njigba (WR – SEA)

“Call me crazy, but I bet I could get a HAUL for Jaxon Smith-Njigba right now. He’s coming off two straight WR3 weeks, finishing with 132 and 162 yards respectively and over 27 PPR points both times. I’d be happy to send him in exchange for a package that includes a struggling stud and a flex option. Maybe you could get a player like Ja’Marr Chase back, along with a fringe starter like Bengals teammate Chase Brown. I’d also be happy sending him for Justin Jefferson, who just had his bye, and an injured RB like Omarion Hampton, who should return after a few weeks. It all depends on what the other team has to offer, but that’s something I’m probably targeting in my own leagues this week.”
Andrew Hall (FantasyPros)

Drake London (WR – ATL)

“My favorite sell-high candidate is Drake London. Don’t get me wrong, I think he’ll have a good end to the season, and he is one of the better receivers out there. With that being said, I do expect to start seeing some touchdown regression for London after the last two weeks, and I also can’t bring myself to trust Penix after some pretty lackluster performances this year. I think you can sell him to some league mates as an elite WR1 and get a high WR2 and RB2 for him.”
