Drew Smyly traded to the Seattle Mariners

The Tamp Bay Rays have acquired OF Mallex Smith, minor league SS Carlos Vargas, and minor league LHP Ryan Yarbrough from the Seattle Mariners for LHP Drew Smyly. (Tampa Bay Rays on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Smyly ended last season with a 7-12 record, 4.88 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, and 167 strikeouts in 175 innings. Adding Smyly to the Mariners rotation creates tons of depth. More importantly for fantasy purposes Smyly stays in a pitchers park but adds an offense that can produce runs. The change of scenery should improve his numbers across the board, especially in wins and innings pitched. Smyly should be a mid-late draft pick come March.
