Michael Pineda roughed up by Nationals

by Chris Zolli | Twins Correspondent | Mon, Mar 20th 6:36pm EDT

Michael Pineda allowed three runs on one hit in 1 2/3 innings against the Nationals on Monday. Pineda walked two batters and struck out one against Washington in Palm Beach. He has a 3.86 ERA this Spring.

Fantasy Impact:

Most of the damage on Pineda was incurred after he left runners on in the 2nd, but he was off on Monday. He is seen as the 2nd SP on the Yankees, but games like this show that he is not a finished product. While he led the American League with 10.6 strikeouts per nine in 2016, too many bad innings over the last two seasons have made Pineda a late-round flier.
