Robert Gsellman works a scoreless ninth inning in Mets' 6-0 win

Robert Gsellman worked a scoreless ninth inning against the Braves on Monday in the Mets' 6-0 Opening Day victory. Gsellman, scheduled to pitch on Sunday, was in need of some work and, with a six run lead, Terry Collins summoned the Mets' fifth starter to finish off the game. In his one inning of work, Gsellman allowed two hits and struck out one preserving the Mets' win.

Fantasy Impact:

Rest assured Gsellman owners, he's not headed to the bullpen. Gsellman hadn't pitched in a few days and Terry Collins opted to get him some work with a huge lead. He allowed the first two hitters to reach base, but then buckled down to get the next two batters, with the final out coming on a double play/base running mistake by the Braves. Gsellman's next start may be moved up to Saturday with the Noah Syndergaard blister issue, so owners should possibly be prepared to get him into lineups on Saturday.
