Ian Kennedy goes eight strong innings in no-decision

by Dan Harris | Mon, Apr 17th 8:43am EDT

Ian Kennedy pitched eight scoreless innings against the Angels on Sunday, giving up just two hits and two walks while striking out 10. Unfortunately, the Royals gave him no run support, and he did not factor into the decision. The Royals eventually won the game, 1-0.

Fantasy Impact:

Kennedy is 0-2 but owns a sterling 2.37 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, and 19 strikeouts in 19 innings pitched. Most encouraging, Kennedy has allowed just one home run so far this season, a rate of just 0.47 home runs per nine, a huge improvement over his career rate of 1.17. If he can continue to limit the long-balls, he should be in line for an excellent season.
