Carlos Carrasco excellent in pitcher’s duel

by Carmen Maiorano | Guardians Correspondent | Mon, May 21st 8:50am EDT

Carlos Carrasco pitched deep into Sunday’s game against the Astros, allowing three runs on eight hits and a walk in 7 2/3 innings. He was done in by a two-run homer by Brian McCann in the seventh inning. He threw 106 pitches altogether, 71 of them for strikes. He struck out six in the outing. Carrasco’s record dropped to 5-3 in the pitcher’s duel with Lance McCullers.

Fantasy Impact:

Carrasco has been inconsistent lately, but he still has a 3.65 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, and 63 Ks in 66 2/3 innings. Those strong numbers are backed by the two complete games he has already tossed this year. He will face these same Astros next time on the mound, this time at home.
