Chase Anderson returns from DL to pick up win

by Brad Richter | Red Sox Correspondent | Tue, May 22nd 6:48am EDT

Chase Anderson (illness) returned from the DL to start against his former team, the Diamondbacks, on Monday. Anderson (4-3) picked up a quality start and a win by tossing six innings while allowing two runs. He walked three and stuck out three on 80 pitches in the 4-2 win.

Fantasy Impact:

The outing was Anderson's fifth quality start in nine games and lowered his ERA down to 3.86 for the season. Anderson has been unable to repeat last season's stellar numbers with an ERA over a run higher and a strikeout rate of just 5.79 K/9 which is well below the 8.47 K/9 mark he posted last season. He should continue to keep the Brewers in games and pick up some wins but he is only a fringe fantasy option in standard leagues.
