We knew Martinez was a long shot for opening day, but this confirms it. The timeline is pretty grim as well; he might not be ready for the rotation until two or more months have passed in season. The general rule of thumb with injury timelines is expect it to be on the longer end of what a team offers. Martinez is a late round DL stash at this point.
