Left-handed reliever Mike Mayers left Monday's game with shoulder discomfort and is likely headed to the IL according to Cardinals manager Mike Shildt. (MLB.com)

Myers complained of a cramping sensation in his throwing shoulder and will return to St. Louis on Tuesday for further examination. The 27-year-old has compiled a 5.40 ERA in eight appearances this season with eight strikeouts and five walks in 8 1/3 innings of work.
