Tanner Roark can't make it through four Monday

by Elliott Baas | Tue, Apr 30th 12:48am EDT

Tanner Roark allowed four runs on four hits over 3.2 innings in the Reds' 5-4 win over the Mets on Monday. He walked four and struck out three in the no decision.

Fantasy Impact:

Roark was horribly inefficient in this one, taking 88 pitches to get 11 outs. Only 50 of those pitches went for strikes, and Roark couldn't even make it through four innings. He's a boring, low-upside veteran, and for pitchers like that to have any value they need to go deep into games. Roark hasn't shown the ability to do that this year, as he's averaging fewer than five innings per start. He's not worth using outside of NL-only. His next start comes Saturday vs. San Francisco.
