Edwin Encarnacion lands on injured list with right wrist fracture

by Mike Maher | Sat, Aug 3rd 6:14pm EDT

Yankees first baseman/designated hitter Edwin Encarnacion has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a right wrist fracture, according to beat reporter Bryan Hoch on Twitter. Hoch adds that "Encarnacion will remain in New York during the upcoming road trip and will be re-evaluated by doctors in the next seven to 10 days." (Bryan Hoch on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Encarnacion was hit on the right hand by a pitch in Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Red Sox, but X-rays were reportedly negative. A CT scan later showed the wrist fracture. More information should become available over the next week or so, but fantasy owners should be prepared to be without the right-handed slugger for at least the next few weeks, if not longer.
