Cole Hamels allows five runs in short outing Thursday

by Connor Rooney | Fri, Aug 9th 8:23am EDT

Cole Hamels did not factor into the decision Thursday against the Reds, allowing five runs (four earned) on eight hits and two walks across three innings. He struck out two.

Fantasy Impact:

After throwing five scoreless innings in his first start back from an oblique injury, his second start was far less impressive. Four of his eight hits allowed went for extra-bases, and one left the yard. The 35-year-old is still having a nice season, logging a 3.09 ERA and 1.24 WHIP in 107.2 innings. He'll look to get back in the win column in his next start, which will come Wednesday on the road against the Phillies.
