Andy Oliver has up and down day versus Red Sox

by Kerry Kauffman | Sun, Mar 22nd 4:08pm EDT

With less than two weeks before the start of the regular season, the Philadelphia Phillies still have roster spots up for grabs. One area of competition is the bullpen. Andy Oliver is in the mix for a spot and has been pitching very well this spring. He had a little stumble against the Red Sox on Sunday, allowing 2 earned runs and 3 hits in 1 2/3 innings. But he stuck out 3 and his ERA in Grapefruit League play is a slim 2.16.

Fantasy Impact:

The up and down outing for Oliver was the first time he's given up a run all spring. With Mario Hollands on the shelf, Oliver has an excellent chance to make the Phillies Opening Day roster as one of two lefties out of the bullpen.
