Yohan Ramirez secures first save of the year in win

by Jon Mathisen | Mets Correspondent | Mon, Aug 31st 12:26pm EDT

Yohan Ramirez secured his first save of the year on Sunday when he struck out two and walked one over a scoreless 10th inning in the M's 2-1 extra-innings victory over the Angels.

Fantasy Impact:

The save was the first of the 25-year old's career. He whiffed Andrelton Simmons and Shohei Ohtani before intentionally walking Mike Trout. He got Anthony Rendon to pop out in the next at-bat to end the game. The right-hander now owns a 2.77 ERA with a 1.46 WHIP and a 21:14 K/BB ratio over 13 innings. He can be very wild at times but he's been gaining valuable experience for the rebuilding Mariners this season.
