Red Sox trade for defensive minded Sandy Leon

To cover for the costly loss of catcher Christian Vazquez, the Red Sox have traded for 26-year-old Sandy Leon from the Nationals. The trade, first reported by the Washington Post, was confirmed by a Red Sox source this morning. The Red Sox paid cash for Leon, who will report to camp tomorrow. (Boston Herald)
Fantasy Impact:
Sandy Leon has no fantasy value and will be with the Red Sox to provide solid defense and provide depth at catcher. While this may be his best opportunity in the big leagues he will be a backup and will get limited playing time.
