Jesus Luzardo takes the loss in Game 1 defeat on Tuesday

by Jon Mathisen | Marlins Correspondent | Tue, Sep 29th 8:21pm EDT

Jesus Luzardo took the loss on Tuesday when he allowed three runs on six hits while striking out five across 3 1/3 innings in the A's 4-1 loss to the White Sox Game 1 of the Wild Card Round.

Fantasy Impact:

All three of Luzardo's runs came via the long ball as Adam Engel took him deep for a solo blast and Jose Abreu parked a two-run shot. The White Sox had not lost a game in the regular season when facing a left-handed starter and that streak continued on Tuesday. The A's will now turn to Chris Bassitt for Game 2 with their backs against the wall as they look to force a Game 3 against the White Sox.
