Garrett Crochet will open season in MLB bullpen

by Andersen Pickard | White Sox Correspondent | Wed, Feb 17th 1:52pm EST

White Sox general manager Rick Hahn announced Garrett Crochet, the team's first-round pick last summer, is expected to open the 2021 season in the major league bullpen. (Jon Morosi on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Crochet fast-tracked to the majors last summer, making five regular-season appearances just months after being drafted. He was dominant when on the mound, surrendering just three hits while striking out eight and walking zero. He also faced two batters in the postseason, striking out both. His early success in 2020 should give the White Sox plenty of confidence as they set their sights on the postseason under the management of Tony La Russa. Crochet is currently ranked as the 116th reliever in the latest expert consensus draft rankings.
