Rangers slugger Joey Gallo followed up a strong Opening Day by going 1-for-2 with a home run and two walks on Saturday. He finished with two RBI and two runs.
Fantasy Impact:
The 27-year old owns a career .208/.327/.499 slash line and has hit above .209 just once in his career while finishing under the Mendoza line twice. However, he makes up for these poor metrics with tremendous power. He hit 41 home runs in 2017, 40 in 2018, 22 in 2019, and 10 in a shortened 2020. He now finds himself back in the dinger column with a slam in the second game of the year. He's listed as the 21st outfielder in the latest rest-of-season expert consensus rankings.
