Adam Wainwright strikes out 10 in dominant outing against Washington
by Lucas Spence | Tue, Apr 20th 11:34pm EDT
Adam Wainwright was in vintage form on Tuesday night, pitching seven innings of one-run ball while scattering five hits and a walk and striking out 10 batters in a no-decision against the Nationals.
Fantasy Impact:
Waino took advantage of a Juan Soto-less Washington lineup on Tuesday, firing five scoreless frames before giving up a solo home run to Josh Bell in the sixth. Wainwright was in line for his first win before the bullpen gave up the lead in the eighth inning. It's been a rough year for the veteran thus far (5.03 ERA), but he was able to take advantage of a favorable matchup tonight and rewarded those who streamed him or used him in DFS lineups on Tuesday. Wainwright has a much tougher draw scheduled next week in Philadelphia.
